There are many reasons why you may want to consider adding a Live Chat feature to your site:

are certainly among basic reasons. Which is exactly why we've like to give a shout out to Olark. We have been using Olark's Live Chat for a few months now and have had nothing but positive feedback from our clients as well as conversions in sales. We do realize, of course, that  the mere act of adding any live chat service would likely gain similar results. However, it has to be noted that of all the 3rd party plug-in's we've ever installed, Olark's Live Chat had to be (by far and without a doubt)  the fastest. We also found Olark's support to be just as lightning fast as well as helpful.

Olark offers several plans to choose from, ranging from the free 1 operator plan to a paid plan with up to 15 operators and integrations for Assistly, High Rise, Salesforce, Webhooks and Zen Desk. In addition, CRM and Helpdesk integration can automatically send full text-chat transcripts to Highrise, Salesforce or Zen Desk. Which is pretty cool, should you have the need. There are several out of the box themes (like the one on this site) to use and of course you can customize your chat box with CSS to match your site.
